P.R.S.T. Precision Rifle Shooter Tripod
Description
PRST™ is a pure shooting tripod developed in collaboration with the pioneers in tripod shooting as well as military and police snipers. The entire design is focused on simplicity, ease of use and durability under harsh conditions in the field.
PRST™ SPECS:
-
Carbon fiber
You can either choose between carbon fiber or aluminum when making a tripod. We went for carbon fiber to keep the weight down. Aluminum is slightly more durable, but with our experience we would rather choose to save weight on the longer marches.
-
Four section or three section legs
PRST™ has four section legs for two reasons:
The first is that you get a higher tripod in those situations where it is needed. Be it snow, steep terrain or in an urban environment. Secondly, the tripod will be shorter when folded, which makes it easier to take it with you on missions, competitions or hunting.
-
Leg locks
This is an important part of all wooden feet. It must be strong enough to support the weight of the rifle, but be easy to manipulate. even with wind mittens, and never get stuck. We have chosen handles that cope with snow, frost, rain, sand and mud. Many tripods for photography and filming have screw locks. These do not work in demanding situations.
-
Center rod
The center rod is important for the small micro-adjustments you need if you are going to shoot through narrow shooting windows, mesh fences and more. Our experience suggests that when we are out in the field and need to make micro-adjustments, it is not very effective to adjust the legs. We have made the center rod short to be able to use the tripod when shooting lying down or lying down with spotting scopes. We have also made it completely round without auto lock so that it is actually possible to follow moving targets. This can be solved with a video head, but many Special Forces choose to use a tripod without a video head to save weight.
-
Paint and color
PRST™ is surface treated with Ceracote™ on the upper parts of the legs, center bar and crown. This is done to give a correct color in the area that can be visible from an opponent. This surface is also a good basis for further camouflage.
-
Carrying capacity of 20 kg.
The tripod industry has no fixed rules for measuring the carrying capacity of tripods, but we guarantee that our tripod can handle 20kg of rifle and equipment. If the rifle weighs more than this we recommend switching to larger aluminum wooden feet or vehicle mounts.
