This classic bench stone has a particularly high density - it is harder and finer than the hard Arkansas and is suited for finish grinding and for most applications. Approximately corresponds to 2000 to 3000 grit. The 6" Bench Stone Hard Black Arkansas is sized at 152 x 50.8 x 12.7 mm, and is also three-quarters of an inch thick.

The oil stones of RH Preyda are mined by hand in Hot Springs in the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas, the only single area where they can be found. The company was founded in 2013 and produces exclusively natural sharpening devices and the matching accessories. The extremely high quality stones are anything but ordinary.
