Some universal tips for using mats:
1. When using the mat in the tent - before unfolding the tent, make sure that there are no branches, metal objects or tree roots with sharp edges left in the sleeping area. Not only will they make sleeping uncomfortable, but they can also puncture the tent floor and tear the mat while sleeping.
2. When using a mat for sleeping outside the tent - also check the sleeping area for objects that can penetrate it.
3. When sleeping outside the tent with a mat, it is recommended to use an additional underlay made of film or poncho-like material, which is larger than the mat itself. This will avoid the moisture coming from the ground and it will make better isolation between you and the ground while sleeping.
4. If you use the mat in cold weather, it is always recommended to prepare a pillow of spruce branches for sleeping, which must first be covered with an impenetrable material and then you can put the mat. Such a pillow will provide additional protection against body heat loss and greatly improve sleeping comfort, especially in winter.
