Safety Whistle for Kelly Kettle “Trekker” (Small) Models

Swap the old orange stopper for this GREEN for GO! whistle. A metal reed is moulded into a soft, heat-tolerant rubber sleeve that pushes loosely into the Trekker’s spout. It sounds when the kettle boils and vents steam downward for extra safety.

Compatibility

• Fits Trekker / small Kelly Kettle models (new & retro-fit).
• Does NOT fit larger Scout or Base Camp kettles.

Critical usage notes

• UNDER-fill – water 15 mm (½″) below spout red line.
• Insert whistle loosely with arrow pointing downward; do NOT jam it in.
• Orange/red stopper is NEVER used while heating.
• Stand to the side/rear of spout; keep children clear.
• Remove kettle from fire, rest 1 min, lift whistle gently via split ring.
• Never boil kettle dry.

Quick how-to (first use)

1. Fill Trekker to safe level.
2. Seat green whistle loosely, arrow down.
3. Boil as normal; whistle sounds.
4. Let settle, remove whistle, pour using chain & handle per manual.
