Authentic Military Heritage

80CrV2 Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is made from 80CrV2 carbon steel, a steel known for toughness, resilience and ease of sharpening in the field. It offers a very good balance of strength, edge retention and practical maintenance.
- Blade steel: 80CrV2 carbon steel
- Hardness: HRC 59
- Blade shape: Drop point
- Grind: Saber grind
- Strong spine for demanding work
- Fine tip for precise cutting tasks
The blade is robust enough for heavy-duty outdoor tasks, yet thin enough at the edge to provide very good cutting performance.
Cerakote Coating
The black Cerakote coating protects the carbon steel from corrosion and reduces light reflection. It also gives the knife a smooth, durable surface suited to field use.
- Improves corrosion resistance
- Low-reflection finish
- Highly durable protective coating
Please note: the manufacturer advises avoiding food preparation use with coated blades if the coating becomes worn.
Ergonomic TPE Handle
The handle is made from TPE, a rubber-like material chosen for grip, comfort and resistance to harsh conditions. It offers secure handling even in cold, wet and demanding environments.
- Comfortable ergonomic shape
- Non-slip texture on the underside
- Good grip with wet or cold hands
- No exposed tang areas that could freeze to the hand
- Designed to reduce hot spots and blister risk during prolonged use
The curved butt end improves grip security during pushing, pulling and controlled cutting movements.
Composite EasyLock Sheath
One of the standout features of the M95 Ranger Puukko is the innovative EasyLock composite sheath. It was developed for secure carry in military environments, including upside-down carry, while still allowing quick and quiet one-handed deployment.
- Composite sheath with EasyLock retention
- Ambidextrous design for right- and left-handed users
- Can be carried vertically, horizontally or upside down
- MOLLE / PALS compatible via included Velcro belt loop
- Drainage hole for water runoff
- Thumb rest for easier draw
- Suitable for belts, vests, backpack straps and combat belts
The knife sits securely in the sheath without rattling, while still remaining fast and intuitive to deploy.
Practical Field Use
The M95 Ranger Puukko is designed as a real working knife for outdoor, tactical and utility use. It is suitable for a wide range of tasks where reliability matters more than appearance.

About the Designer
Juha-Pekka Peltonen served in the Finnish Army and later in multiple UN missions, including Cyprus, Sinai, Lebanon and Kashmir. The idea behind the M95 was born from real field experience and the desire to create a robust military knife that combined Finnish knife-making tradition with modern operational requirements.
That original concept became the M95 Sissipuukko, now known internationally as the M95 Ranger Puukko.
