CeraKote is a hard coating made of Teflon and ceramics that we apply for military users and others who want to avoid shiny blades. Be aware, however, that although CeraKote is an industry standard, it is also just a finish applied to the metal blade similar to painting a car and it will gradually wear off when put to use. Please note that physical abrasions could scratch through the CeraKote coating. Over time, the black CeraKote may separate from the blade, but more durable coatings make the knife difficult to sharpen and cost up to 100 times more than CeraKote.
