The ground in Shefferville is permafrost, which means it is frozen all year round. The most abundant type of vegetation over there is caribou lichen which feeds the gigantic population of almost one million heads. There is so many of them in Shefferville that residents often see tracks on the street and in their backyard. For already more than 10 years LAMOUREUX & SONS knives are handcrafted by craftsmen from Quebec, Canada. The fabrication of each piece is comprised of more than 60 steps and numerous quality controls. All blades are made from S-30V stainless steel sourced from the reputed foundries of Crucible Steels. This alloy is one of the best performing in terms of cutting while maintaining its edge remarkably. Hand guards are crafted from Type 416 stainless steel, this alloy being used for its rigidity and resistance to corrosion. The handles all have ergonomic design features and are sculpted from either cocobolo or Madagascar Ebony, two wood species carefully selected for their hardness, resistance and mostly for their high oil contents which renders our handles stable and virtually impossible to rot. The unique shape of each model’s handle has been studied and developed to provide a comfortable and safe grip in hand during each model’s specific intended use. The handles are secured to the blade permanently using distinctive decorative rivet pins. Every piece is protected by a full-grain leather sheath, hand-stitched by our craftsmen.

All of our frames are made of robust, flexible, shatterproof and anti-allergic material. The frames are mainly produced with the material TR90. A lot of our frames also have a RX clip adapter, the possibility of optical glazing, adjustable temples and nose pads as well as more beneficial features to ensure a good fit.
All Swisseye sports glasses have shatterproof polycarbonate lenses. All of these products protect to 100% UVA-, UVB- and UVC-rays and offer the highest optical quality without distortion.
The combined antifog/antiscratch-coating prevents all lenses for steaming up and scratches (not available for all photochromic/polarized and bifocal lens/es. With the hydrophobic coating water rolls off the lens easily and particles are eliminated.
