4×4 Thermo-tarp is the largest Thermo-tarp in the BUSHMEN collection.
Tarp is made of an extremely packaged, lightweight, waterproof material with Polyester 190T ripstop weave.
The larger area (16 m2!) is more stressed, so there is more reinforcements and more loops.
Now, this waterproof sheet with a thermal insulation layer has as many as 26 loops.
20 loops are located on the Thermo-tarp circuit. The remaining 6 are located in the middle on special reinforcing belts.
Of course, similarly to all BUSHMEN Travel Gear tarps, this one is also packed into a practical bag with transporting handles located on the bottom and along the bag.
Usage
If you travel using various means of transport, such as a canoe, car or bicycle, this solution is designed for you.
If you travel together, this solution is for both of you. A large surface and a unique double ridge allow you to sleep comfortably in two hammocks under one roof.
Thanks to the tape reinforcement and the convenient arrangement of the loops, the tarp can be laid out in many ways. It provides convenience and protection in every situation. Using the surroundings (trees, rocks, depressions) and paddles, a bike, or simply a car roof rack, you can create a great tent, or a type of patio perfectly adjusted to a place and weather, and above all, your needs.
The top side colour is dark olive. It easily absorbs heat and masks well.
On the other side, the material is covered with a thermal insulation layer, which increases thermal comfort.
The silver cover of the other side perfectly reflects body heat while maintaining thermal comfort, e.g. during cold nights. Its reflective surface also allows to use lighting more effectively.
On hot days, it reflects the sun’s rays significantly lowering the temperature under the tarp.
Bad weather
Under extremely bad weather conditions you can make a “storm tent” in a short while. A shelter provided is fully insulating, both from the ground and all sides. The thermal conductivity of the tarp is approximately 40 times lower than that of the sand, and almost 20 times lower than that of the grass. Therefore, the BUSHMEN tarp provides full protection from hypothermia, rainfall and wind. BUSHMEN tarp brings enough space to lie down or sit while waiting for the weather to change.
Good weather
During warmer days, setting up the shelter with the insulating side facing the sun provides pleasant a shadow, protecting from overheating.
In everyday use, e.g. while vacationing with the family, the tarp can be used to create a breezy roof in front of the tent or as a bathroom curtain. Laid down over the tent with the thermal side up, the BUSHMEN Thermo –Tarp protects from overheating inside the tent. It allows you to sleep longer in hot mornings.
Lots of applications
BUSHMEN Thermo–Tarp can also be used as a large, comfortable hammock of the “banana type”. Just fold in half and tie the ends (not loops) with a rope and you’ll get a 1,5 m broad and 3 m. long hammock.
You will find on Tarpology more ways how to use BUSHMEN Thermo–Tarp.
BUSHMEN Thermo – Tarpology
The unique construction of the BUSHMEN Thermo-Tarp makes it not only a practical and light camping shelter. Depending on the situation, it can also turn into a practical blanket, a mattress to sleep on or a full bed, or even a stretcher. It can also be utilized as a thermal reflector. It’s a good solution while drying out clothes for example. Of course it can be used as a signal blanket in an emergency situation.
The whole tarp can be put in a transportation bag with handles along the bag and at the bottom. With careful folding, the tarp takes very little space – the dimensions are barely 25xØ16 cm. Thus it can be put in the flap of even a small backpack.
Technical data:
- Dimensions 4x4 m
- 26 loops
- Weight 1350g
- Breathable, water-resisatnt (3000mm), fabric with insulation layer
- Ripstop wave fabric and triple stitch enforcements to make it stronger
- 4×4 Thermo tarp has characteristic two reinforcing tapes running parallel to each other. They are 145cm from the tarp edge. This greatly strengthens the construction and durability of the sheet.
- There are 5 loops on each of them – two classic ones at the ends and three respectively spaced every 1m.
